Schloss Leopoldskron, Salzburg

The gates are open. I look up and saw the glorious hotel Schloss Leopoldskron.  A historical palace next to the lake where I could almost hear Julie Andrews singing The Sound of Music. Yes! It’s the place where some of the classic film scenes took place. Walking through the palace door it felt like traveling back in time. The interior is decorated with the largest collection of paintings Salzburg had ever known.

Tip: Stay warm with an Eco-Fur collar, a grey coat and the Versace mens sneakers.

The lake and Alpes view from the suite window was breathtaking!

The next morning breakfast was served in the ballroom with the two enormous fireplaces. Just a few days ago Chanel’s fashion show took place in the same room.

After breakfast I took a beautiful walk to the city centre. I got on the railway to The Fortress Hohensalzburg which is the castle of Salzburg. The view from up there is simply amazing!

Take some photos and off to the famous Café-Konditorei Fürst and have a latte served with the only original Mozartkugel (chocolate candies stuffed with pistachio) on the side.

Tip: Wear leather jacket, gloves and the Chanel backpack.

If you can travel to Salzburg during Christmas, then DO IT! Every corner of the city is full of little Christmas markets offering hot beverages with the most famous one being the hot red wine with spices. You can actually keep the mug. 🙂 Take a walk and let yourself get lost in the tiny traditional streets of Salzburg where even the shop signs are a work of art.

Tip: wear something christmasee and fun.

For dinner I suggest schnitzel with potato salad and local draft. Then take a walk by the river and enjoy the illuminated city of Salzburg.
