The dreamy Fairmont Mayakoba Riviera Maya resort is located in a private gated resort community, surrounded by tropical forest intersected by crystal clear waterways and a pristine Caribbean shoreline, near the town of Playa del Carmen.
Exotic birds, turtles and iguanas laze among Mayakoba’s waterways and trees. Golf carts carry guests across the large, peaceful property, from beachfront to lagoon or to the spa and restaurants, though bikes are also available.
There are three restaurants and three bars, including El Lobby Lounge, across the site. La Laguna serves an extensive breakfast buffet each morning, but it’s also the place to be in the evenings, with a romantic lagoon-side setting and delicious Mexican food, including guacamole, ceviche and sizzling plates of rib-eye fajitas. El Puerto offers an Asian menu with Mexican influences and ingredients, such as sushi, sashimi and noodle dishes served alongside chipotle miso black cod and tuna tiradito. There’s excellent seafood with a beachfront view at Brisas, and a breakfast selection which is just as good at La Laguna’s. The Lobby Lounge’s balcony and La Laguna’s lakeside slug it out for best drinking spot – try a habanero margarita.
Enjoy the Mexican sun ,delicious food and cocktails in one of the best beaches in Mexico. I have stayed in a pool villa right on the beach and it was the best way to enjoy this beautiful place.
